About who needs care: She just had total knee replacement. Her sight is diminishing so household tasks are becoming difficult. She is up at 6:30 am, tea & bagel for breakfast then watches days of our lives, news and Steve Harvey game shows. She reads books and talks on the phone throughout the day. Lunch around 12-1 is usually yogurt and a banana. Dinner around 5 or 6 and she will make microwave food for herself. She does not use the oven anymore. She is sometimes on repeat with her stories & struggles to remember names but does not make things up. If you can help her, like charades, she can get the story out shes trying to tell. Prior to knee surgery was extremely active and self sufficient. She likes to go to the school across the street and walk the track w her friends, Usually daily. About the care needs: Someone who is not easily offended or annoyed / frustrated having to repeat themselves or hearing the same story 12 times. Thick skin is a must. Shes a sweet grandma but likes to accuse others of things she did b/c she cant see that shes doing it. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
