About who needs care: Both my parents are about to turn 95 and still living in their own home. They pretty much watch tv when they are not taking care of meal prep, shopping, doing bills. In recent years minimal housekeeping has taken place in the home, but the home is always neat and orderly. We have already begun a deep clean and have a few rooms to go. I would need someone to do some basic chores and thinking of having a cleaning person to do the heavy work maybe twice a month. My mother is fiercely independent, and she is resisting the step to bring in some help, but we are at the point that she has no choice. She had a heart attack in the summer and one stent was placed. Recently, that same stent "clogged" causing another heart attack which severely damaged her heart muscle so she will no longer have the strength and endurance she once had. What we will be needing will be a work in progress as I am not exactly sure. But what I am thinking is maybe some light cleaning, meal prep with my mother's guidance and possibly some errands. My dad's limitations are from very poor hearing and limited eye sight in one eye only. They both use walkers and are cognitively good except for some slight memory loss. About the care needs: I would like someone friendly and able to converse with my parents while they are in the home. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
