About who needs care: Lives alone. Still independent. Very smart, retired businessman in Marketing Research. Loves crossword puzzles. Reads newspapers. Wont watch TV until nighttime. Enjoys looking things up on his tablet. Looking for someone he can talk with, who can cook simple dinners, and maybe drive him as needed. (He still drives but we are hoping to ween him off driving.) About the care needs: Someone bright and curious. Someone willing to engage in conversation but also able to give him space as needed. Someone who is not intimidated by his sometimes-negative attitude. Patience and compassion for a man who has outlived his friends, his wife and just recently his son and his girlfriend. He is devastated that his body is deteriorating at 94 years old, despite still being sharp. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
