About who needs care: In hospice for stage-four colon cancer; can't walk; difficulty feeding self; lungs compromised, leaving speech difficult. Ideal day is avoiding discomfort, getting her some liquids and food and her meds on time (we take care of dispensing the meds in concert with hospice) and having someone around who can listen closely and make Mom feel heard. About the care needs: We'd love someone who's sensitive, ideally doesn't use _too_ much baby talk, and generally treats Mom like an adult. (That can be hard to do!) No specialized skills needed beyond the basics of elder home care: bathing, changing, helping with commode (if/when Mom is actually mobile, which is increasingly rare). Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
