About who needs care: Has mild cerebral palsy, is ambulatory but uses a wheelchair to get around. Transfers with assistance. Supported by AHRC Nassau. Great sense or humor, established senior centers for daily activities. 9:30-3:30. Local Garden City resident who lives in this group home setting. About the care needs: Outgoing, mature and kind. Hobbies include simple games, all kinds of music and medicals, enjoys social setting and outdoor activities. Would need transportation and to be able to assist to/from wheelchair/car as well as bathroom as needed. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
