About who needs care: Mobility is the primary issue. Pop had a stroke earlier this year and now uses a walker. He needs to be spotted while using the walker and transferring, but he is able to stand on his own. He is capable of using the bathroom mostly on his own unless he has had a bowel accident. In that situation he would need more assistance. In general he goes to bed between 8 and 9 p.m. so a majority of the evening he would not need assistance. Potentially the aid would be able to leave after he is in bed for the evening, this would shorten the evening to a 4hr span from 5 to 9 p.m. About the care needs: Pop grew up on Long Island, and Pop usually will soften up when he finds that connection with someone. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
