About who needs care: Because of chronic pain, he is mostly confined to bed. He can get up and walk on his own, able to care for himself and drive to appointments. Living in Forest Hills, however, walking to stores for groceries, and running other errands, is not an option. He also cannot stand long enough to cook for himself. He's looking for someone to help out with errands and meals for three hours, twice a week. About the care needs: I won't lie: He can get really picky about food. His eggs must be soft, with no brown, for example. He can also be annoying when it comes to going to the grocery store; he'll call four or five times after you've already gone out with a list. With that being said, he's a very nice, interesting man. I met him at work years ago, and despite a large age difference - I'm 42, he's 72 - he's become one of my good friends. I look forward to going to his apartment and hanging out. His wife unexpectedly died earlier this year, which has been hard. She was the one running errands previously. I've been helping out where I can, but overall, he does need assistance, as I can't always be there. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
