Hands-on Care Needed For My Mother In Elmira

About who needs care: K is 86 years old, Floridian that recently relocated to this area. Her mind can be very sharp throughout the day. She was fully independent in May 2024 until she had a health decline during her fight with pneumonia. At present, she is bed-ridden due to muscle atrophy; however, she can still use her arms and legs. She also working fulltime with PT and OT to get her core strength back. We don't expect anyone to lift her without us present; however, we would like for the focus to be on her personal needs, like hygiene, housekeeping, and other items that can be discussed. She's pretty content with laying about all day, but we want her to stay engaged, as we are constantly on the go. We are primarily looking for someone that can get her ready to tackle the day in the morning time and prepare her bed in the evening. Comfort, cleanliness, compassionate care is all she needs. She has some stories that will keep you going. About the care needs: We are hoping to have someone be a part of the family that is pro-active, excitable and engaging. Mom is physically challenged, so it is important to us that she gets in exercise throughout the visits. Mom loves to eat despite the claim of no appetite. Someone that loves cooking would be a plus. She also loves card games and reading. She can keep herself entertained, but it would be nice to have someone that engages her and challenges her. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
