About who needs care: Maria has Early dementia and lupus. She enjoys watching her reality shows and lifetime movies. The ideal day would be helping her with meals, making sure Maria is taking her medication. Maria will forget things easily so reminders about important things like turning off the water if she forgets etc.. make sure Maria is being hygienic ( brushes her teeth, bathes and combs her hair). Maria loves company so she's a talker but she has a habit of telling the same stories over again. Once Maria is ready for bed she will retire to her bedroom and watch tv till she falls asleep but the assistant would be able to leave whenever Maria goes to her room for the night. Maria is able to function well its just with the dementia she forgets things including taking care of herself and the lupus makes her weak from time to time. I have to add I would need the assistant to be able to accompany Maria to Doctors appointments. I have a second car available in the garage that can be used to drive for errands, appointments and day trips if Maria would like to get out of the house. About the care needs: The ideal caregiver would need to able to listen to repetitive stories and questions, be able to handle watching reality shows and cringy movies. They'd be able to help Maria with making meals and possibly light housework if they see it starting to get messy. Maria is like a kid at heart and loves socializing, hosting dinners and she's not too complicated. Marias hobbies include shopping, movies, cooking, gardening, reading, long drives in cars and scrolling the internet. As far as any specialized skills we would want someone who understands dementia and Lupus, at least to the point where they can notice an episode. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
