I'm looking for assistance for myself. I am 70 years old & some time in mid-January I am having surgery on my right hand (I am a righty). How extensive the surgery is will affect if I can use my right hand or arm at all. I am a diabetic & take 4-5 injections a day. I will inject myself, but I will need assistance loading the insulin into the pen (syringe). This part is actually very simple if one has 2 functional hands. Basically, I will need assistance for tasks that require the use of both hands. Some light tidying up is involved. Meal prep assistance will be simple. Dinners require turning on the microwave (I use a meal service). You'll need to handle groceries or errands when appropriate. Duties include transportation (doctor's appointments, errands, etc.). The caregiver must be a non-smoker and knowing CPR & first-aid is a plus.
