Hands-on Care Needed For My Mother In Brooklyn

About who needs care: My Mother is mobile, can walk on her own, use bathroom, shower, and dress on her own. Speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She does use a walker for more than 25 yards. Scoliosis and small leak in her heart. Needs once a week visits 4-6 hours to do light cleaning, cooking, light errands, walking with her to get groceries/medication and doc visits. Transportation needed. For her own safety and the safety of others, I do not think she should drive anymore. She is very well dedicated, well read and cultured. She loves museums, plays, operas, live music and gardens. About the care needs: Kind, patient, honest, positive and cultured individual who doesn't mind listening and talking about culture, shows, politics, history etc. Bonus if this person can cook Cantonese style food, but isn't required. Must respect elderly Asians and is protective as though this client is his/her own Grandparent. Excellent communicator and willing to update client's daughter on client's condition, and what events are scheduled with caregiver, what client might need, etc. Person needs to be strong enough to assist Mom with her walker, throw out garbage and go on walks with my Mom. Need to ensure my Mom is wearing warm enough clothing when outside. Caregiver protects themselves (mask) if needed when inside. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
