About who needs care: Larry is an 83-year-old widower with diabetes. He recently had a middle toe on his right foot amputated and has been recovering in Cicero for about 2 months. His mobility has improved in recent weeks and he can get around with a walker. Cognitively he has short term memory issues which fall short of dementia. To stay in his home he will need daily assistance with meal preparation, house keeping and maybe help getting dressed while he heals. About the care needs: Dad is just a nice, down to earth guy who needs help with basic daily living. He does need help monitoring and administering insulin however. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
