We are looking for additional support/ care/ assistance for our 78-year-old father in his Colonie NY home. Our dad has Parkinsons. Of recent weeks, he has been acting out his dreams which is affecting his sleep. This is resulting, we feel, in him falling asleep all day, every day when not entertained. The bigger concern is he suffered a quad tear injury in Feb 2024 and has not recovered well. He is exceptionally weak and is at this point, barely able to walk. We are looking for an additional set of hands and someone to potentially help engage him so he doesn't sleep all day- cards/ games/ etc and assist when needing to transfer out of bed, to rest room, to living room etc. Any PT experience is a huge plus as we are working- again- on getting home PT but he needs DAILY PT. a few times a day. Our thought is maybe he'll listen to a "stranger" and work. Otherwise, realistically, assisted living is on the very near horizon. We want to keep him at home as long as possible but he needs to get stronger and first and foremost, stay awake. We are looking first for 6p-12a shift but likely that will expand for mornings and possibly and overlap in afternoon, possibly 4p-8p, daily Sunday- Saturday. Experience with Parkinson's/ CPR a plus. Thank you
