About who needs care: My mom has been a widow for 4 years. I am her youngest child, but POA and primary caregiver. My older siblings live in Reno, but do not provide care and are unable too. My mom loves music! She plays guitar, as best she can. She is a Christian woman who speaks of her faith all the time. It means everything to her. She loves to crochet and knit, the best she can. Her mobility is okay. When she goes out she uses a cane or walker. She loves to read and write. She doesn't socialize much but she likes one on one more, no crowds. About the care needs: I am looking for someone who understands cognitive impairment. Even though my mom was diagnosed with frontemporal dementia in 2015, I don't see any symptoms. The memory loss and circular speaking, is what she has had all my life. I believe it is a cognitive issue. Mom would do well with a female who loves music, reading, writing, crocheting, and watching TV. Occasional field trips to cemetery, library, to see my siblings, and other places are needed too. Mom does her own laundry and cleans her room, but I believe its getting harder and she needs help with that too. Meal prep is occasional, I do it all but might need help from time to time. Mom likes to feed the birds outside and very minimal yard work, so lifting requirement of 25 lbs. Most important, we have 2 dogs!!! A pitbull and a chihuahua . Caregiver must love all dogs!!!! Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
