About the job
About who needs care: Ronni has mild dementia. She lives alone in Tesuque. What keeps her going is her daily dog walk- she led an extremely active life and has no real indoor hobbies besides cleaning and organizing. If she cant take a walk every day I believe she would decompensate quickly. My dearest hope is that we can find someone to spend time with her 4-5 times per week and take her dog walks with her. What is precipitating this request is that mom has taken a single route every day for years which cuts through a neighbors property and the neighbor has just made her property off limits. There is an alternative route through the arroyo that gets her on her preferred trail but we need to reinforce this route heavily and provide supervision for a few months to make sure she gets it. We want her to be able to stay where she is because its her home but this walking route really feels like the key to her wellbeing. About the care needs: An active person who enjoys hiking! Mom is still mild dementia so she can perform most ADLs but doesnt drive and doesnt have access to money. She cooks but some light cooking would be nice. MUST LOVE DOGS She has 2 well behaved and energetic dogs an Australian shepherd and a standard poodle. They are off leash for the walks and tend to walk right on her heels the whole time. But they are on some of the furniture at her house and so a healthy appreciation for dog dominated life would be perfect Services needed include: companionship.
