About who needs care: Dementia, diabetes, arthritis, macular degeneration, hard of hearing (wears hearing aids but still struggles to hear) Hobbies and interests: church and Jesus Staying home with company, she doesn't like to get out much in the colder months, in the summer she occasionally likes to go for a drive and some ice cream, but for the most part she is happiest at home with someone to talk to. About the care needs: They should be patient, kind, and understanding, my grandma can be a handful sometimes, her arthritis makes her moody and her poor hearing can be frustrating for a lot of people. Her dementia makes her very forgetful and she will ask the same question several times throughout the day even though you have given her an answer. She is very uncomfortable around men, and while I know it is wrong to request it, someone religious is preferred just because church and God are the two things she likes talking about most. Being able to lift over a hundred pounds is preferred because sometimes she needs help getting up, and she does have the occasional accident in the bathroom, so preferably someone who is not squeamish with that kind of stuff. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
