About who needs care: Uses an oxygen concentrator frequently. Needs to uses a cane or walker at all times. Needs help with taking her medicines on time. Would like someone to do meal prep for lunch and dinners. Would like help with light chores and laundry, and short walks when the weather is good. She naps frequently. Mom is able to have some normal conversations, but does have some memory issues. Mom is a genuinely good-hearted person who is good company. About the care needs: Needs to be positive, but consistent. Mom does get side tracked often, and will need reminders about what needs to be done. She does need help with bathing, drying hair, dressing. Understanding Memory loss is a plus. Help with mobility..... she still walks, but is at risk of falls without her cane or walker. Mom has advanced Macular degenerative and advanced glaucoma diseases. Sight is a problem for her. She will need support with that (reading the newspaper to her, letters in the mail, articles from magazines, etc.) She loves travel, sewing, cooking (simple tasks would be fun for her), gardening. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
