About who needs care: My father has an Aortic aneurysm. He has had a stroke but his mind is still pretty sharp. He has also had bypass surgery many years ago. He takes 9 pills in the morning and few more around 2 p.m. My Father does a stepmaster machine for an hour every day and watches a lot of television. We need help from about 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. My dad can get around with a walker but he needs help getting to and from the shower when he gets up around 10 a.m. Also needs help getting his clothes ready and taking his pills. Then he hangs out on the couch and eats lunch and takes more pills around 2 p.m. About the care needs: I think my father would probably prefer a male caregiver. I don't think there are any specialized skills needed. My father can get around by himself with a walker but mainly needs help for little things and needs someone around to make sure he is doing alright. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
