About the job
About who needs care: My mom had a stroke in 2021 and since then has been declining. She has major depressive disorder, but I feel there are other personality issues that are undiagnosed. She is living in a large home by herself and is knows she needs to get out, but is reluctant to make any moves. She has since refused to sign a POA, DPOA or her will (we're hoping to get that done this week). She still feels she has some control, but clearly does not. She does not do laundry, hygiene has declined and is not eating well. She is up most of the night and sleeps late. I wouldn't know what her ideal day would be. She has distanced herself from her friends and doesn't leave the house too much anymore. About the care needs: My mom is very pleasant at first, but demands things her way. I don't know what would be a good fit. She usually is good and cooperative with people for a few weeks, then they get too close and she can get nasty. She thinks her 'reason' is the right way. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
