We are looking for daytime help for my mother, who is 63 years old and facing an early-onset Alzheimer's. I live around the block & visit usually daily but am a full-time teacher with a small child. My father, who is 69, still works part time; he generally works Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays driving the bus for our local senior center &is usually able to come home at lunch time those days. We are looking for someone who can be a companion at those times who will help my mother dress, help her to eat breakfast/lunch, and try to keep her engaged in conversation/activity (she watches a LOT of TV but used to love card games). Help with bathing/hygiene would be a huge benefit to my dad's wellbeing - he thinks he can do it all, but it is hard on him. They have one quiet, sleepy elderly cat who will not bother anyone but will be present.
