About who needs care: My husband has had various bleed type strokes. He was not been affected by them in the same way as a blood clot type . His downfall was as his hip replacement : he never did his physical therapy to help his recovery he has been sitting in a chair 24/7 since he use to make an effort to go out meet friends for lunch go to daughters for events. He no longer feels the effort is worth the results : therefore he is on a walker becoming less mobile and more work. Difficult for me and my son who is temporally living here . About the care needs: My husband is a heavy man who needs help in the shower and getting into the bathroom. Sometimes getting off or on chairs and the toilet . He is. angry at his condition but seems unwilling to or unable to use that to make an effort towards being better. I am presently filling out paperwork toward admission to the VA but that is a long process. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
