About who needs care: My grandmother has dementia and short term memory issues. She loves to talk about her past and likes to watch things outside and observe the animals and plants. She likes rides as well, if possible to take her for a ride. She will try to play memory games, but needs assistance in playing. She also likes to look at scrapbooks and pictures. About the care needs: A great fit would be someone who is patient and kind but engages and asks a lot of questions so she can share her stories. Someone who is firm because she will push back about getting out of bed and showering, she can be very difficult and will not be happy about having a stranger in the house helping her but its becoming a necessity and she will warm up to it, so someone who understands how to work with dementia patients who require patience and love.
