About who needs care: ESRD on dialysis 3x/week. Has colostomy but is able to empty by self. Slow to get moving in the morning but is able to get around with walker/rollator. Likes to watch TV, play games on iPad, sit outside and watch the birds/neighborhood. Ideally, arrive about 10 a.m. to wake her and get her started to the bathroom. Help dress (just needs help with pants usually), assist making breakfast. If weather nice, walk to neighbors driveway and maybe sit outside for a while. Usually I leave her with a task/chore to do each day so she keeps active so assistance setting that up as needed. Get lunch setup before leaving. About the care needs: Would like someone friendly. Barbara likes to listen to other people tell stories and is an observer rather than a participator. Sometimes has a hard time with accents but is usually ok if the person speaks slowly. No special skills but someone who doesn't mind seeing her colostomy (she is less careful about making sure its covered up and leave bathroom door open a lot). Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
