About who needs care: Mostly wheelchair bound with occasional walker use. Advanced macular degeneration in both eyes. Bright, alert & engaged socially. Requires transportation to medical appointments (must drive & have vehicle to accommodate a wheelchair), errand service, bathing, general aide care to keep small independent living space clean, clothes washed & bed changed. Must be kind, caring, and speak English. Typical day (9-12/1) is bathing, wash, prepping medications, driving to occasional medical appointments. Evening (6-8) finish washing clothes & tidying up until dinner is over (independent living serves dinner in dining room) then prepping for bed & setting out evening meds. About the care needs: Kind, caring, cheerful, & speaks English. Can set up appointments and write them in calendar. Occasionally flexible to accommodate medical & other appointments when necessary. Must drive & have a vehicle to accommodate wheelchair. Must be able to attend to body care & help with dressing. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
