About who needs care: My Mom has Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. She also has very bad knees and struggles to walk. She likes to read magazines (not books), garden, and watch TV. Her ideal day would be to wake up, shower, change, have breakfast while watching a few TV shows, do some light gardening outside (weather permitting), have lunch, do some laundry and ironing, have dinner, watch some more TV, and then bed. About the care needs: Someone upbeat, outgoing, and talkative. Medical Home Care Services: - Check vitals (Blood pressure, pulse rate, weight, etc.). - Check on incontinence and UTI issues. - Make sure meds are being taken. - Evaluate her ability to walk. - Evaluate her ability to shower (she has trouble washing her hair). - Make sure she's hydrated/drinking enough water Companion Home Care Services: - Make sure she's showered (she has trouble washing her hair). - Make sure laundry is done (clothes, bed sheets, etc.). - Make sure she has (healthy) food and meals to eat. - Make sure she's brushed her teeth. - Take her to get her hair washed and done 1x/week. - Take her shopping. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
