About who needs care: My step-daughter has bipolar disorder, anxiety and periods of severe depression. She is under the treatment of a psychiatrist and a therapist and is on a medication regime. When her depression and anxiety get severe, she has been inpatient at a local treatment facility, so that is always a backup, with the intent that it not be necessary. We are looking for someone to supplement her care, maybe a couple of afternoons a week. We're looking for someone to do light housework, with her involvement, tasks such as making a grocery list and going with her to the grocery store, helping her change sheets, helping pick up her living room, helping to clean the kitchen, etc., all with my daughter-in-law's involvement. About the care needs: We need someone who is outgoing and will take initiative in encouraging her to get involved in tasks and activities. She used to be an outgoing person with many friends until things got bad about six years ago. Those friends have drifted away so she needs companionship. She's a big sports fan and watches lots of sports on tv. She needs some time out of the house, even if it's just going to the grocery store. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
