About the job
Parents live at at . Both have mild cognitive impairment; Mom w/advanced macular degeneration. They like old movies, music, news, Jeopardy, a daily walk. Daughter in CO; son in NYC; we visit, participate in all medical appointments, and assist with managing finances. Duties: For Both: daily med reminders, dressing assist, clean hearing aids, occasional transportation, check personal item supplies. For Dad: don compression socks, clean mouthpiece, weekly shave. Schedule: 9-10 hours/week: 1 hour/day for 6 days (7-8AM) and 3 hours one day (7-11AM); can split between two people. Assist with dress, compression socks, medications (at 7:30), etc., then walk them to dining room for breakfast at 8:00. One day/week: after morning routine, clean hearing aids and mouthpiece, troubleshoot, take them out for breakfast, then shopping.
