We are looking for a kind and reliable caregiver who lives near Statesville and would be available on an as-needed basis to stay with my father-in-law when my mother-in-law has appointments or needs to step out. He is in the early stages of dementia and has some mobility challenges. While he does well at home, there are times when he prefers not to go out, and my mother-in-law would feel more comfortable knowing someone is there with him. He has not wandered off, but the main concerns are fall prevention and confusion if he forgets where she has gone. My mother-in-law is his primary caregiver and does a wonderful job, but having someone local to call on occasionally would be a huge blessing for her and our family.
