About who needs care: Mom recently had right shoulder replacement surgery. She has a chronic nerve injury that resulted in contracture of the left hand. She has MS and experiences bilateral upper and lower extemity weakness. She needs assistance with getting in to and out of bed/chairs. She also needs assistance with toileting/brief changes, bathing, cutting food and prepping to self-feed. She is alert, oriented, and of sound mind. She is strong in her Christian faith. Loves to read. About the care needs: Mom enjoys being in quiet, peaceful environments. She is self-motivated and is working hard to regain her strength to care for herself independently again. She is a good listener and is genuinely interested in the lives and well-being of everyone she encounters. She loves to talk about her faith with others. She has many friends from her church/community that like to drop by the house to visit with her regularly. Her ideal caregiver is someone with a positive mindset, who can maintain a calm and quiet environment, and is not bothered by the aforementioned traits. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
