Hands-on Care Needed For My Mother In Raleigh

About who needs care: My mom has pretty severe mobility limitations, is almost wheelchair bound, and has been afflicted with a neuropathy for almost 40 years. She has no feeling in her hands up to her elbows, and her feet up to her knees. She is really struggling to get dressed and really do anything that requires her hands or gripping anything. She doesn't need to be fed or anything, but is having trouble getting a simple breakfast of cereal, toast and coffee. Showering is impossible by herself. She has been able to get from her recliner chair to her power wheelchair and to the bathroom, but transferring from the wheelchair to the toilet and back is becoming more difficult all the time. The care we are interested in to start would be in the mornings, helping her shower every 3 or 4 days, and maybe a sponge bath in between. Also, helping her get dressed, and getting her leg braces and shoes on. Making her bed, getting breakfast and some very light cleaning. She has a cleaning service, but I'm talking about wiping the counters after breakfast, washing the breakfast dishes - one plate, one bowl, a cup - and tidying the bathroom if needed. Once a week doing a load of laundry, sometimes two if sheets are to be washed. Nothing really needed in the evening yet, except perhaps at around 6pm, getting her into her jammies. That's about it I think. Unfortunately, like probably many others, we are on an extremely tight budget, so we may have to choose the higher priority things over the lower ones. Hoping we can get it all done, but it will be a challenge. About the care needs: You probably know better than I do based on my description of her needs, but ideally I would like a very kind-hearted person who can smile through seeing the pain others are going through. I honestly don't know how people can, but I've nothing but respect for those who can. I guess training and experience in chair transfers/showering transfers etc. would be on my list of skills. No specific hobbies or interests, but my mom was a life long sewer and quilter and would love to chat about craft stuff. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
