About who needs care: 2 parents: My dad is 83 and has age related dementia, so no short-term memory. My mom is 81 and has slight short-term memory recall issues. She's much more agile than he is. Both are moving into my home in 2 weeks, will live on the 1st floor with their own bedroom and bathroom. I work from home full-time, and I would like someone to come by for 2 hours day to take them outside to walk, get fresh air, some exercise, keep an eye while they do yardwork, depending on schedule, make sure they eat lunch. Sometimes, they can be taken out for lunch as an outing. They will need transport to various medical appointments. Both are on neurology medications but are able to walk unassisted still, eat on their own, and are generally healthy. About the care needs: Ideally someone who speaks Vietnamese would be amazing, but they both speak English. My mom's speech is accented so might be hard to understand for some people. They are very polite, gentle and generally friendly. They do need some cajoling to get outside. They love to be outside when the weather is nice. Both were avid gardeners before, so I hope they will enjoy and spend time helping me with my yard. I would like someone who would be willing to stay overnight when I travel, too. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
