About who needs care: Stan is my father in-law at an assisted living facility. He went into hospice care in January because of the placement of a full-time Foley catheter. He can transfer from wheelchair to bed/toilet with assistance but he can't be left alone because he will often not ask for help and falls unless someone is with him 24/7. My wife Rosanne has been caregiving for 12 hours a day 7 days a week for several months. We have overnight caregivers (because he often tries to get out of bed thinking he can walk) but need someone(s) to cover day side so that Rosanne can have a respite. Her mother is also in the same facility in memory care but doesn't require any extra care. Rosanne and I have been providing daily care for either or both of her parents for four years. About the care needs: Bright personalities who can speak clearly are welcome. Actually anyone who can just sit with him during the day. He honestly sleeps most of the time but he will awaken to go to the dining room and play bingo. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
