About who needs care: He is in good health but is not interested in doing any exercises to maintain or strengthen his muscles. Getting him moving requires patients as he is very slow to stand and gets tired easily. He enjoys watching the birds outside his window, the companionship of his old dog and sitting in his recliner watching tv. He is interested in science and technology and things related to space and time. He likes to tease people, however his hearing is going and the filters are clogged so often the teasing does not make sense. About the care needs: A male caregiver would be ideal. He is mostly independent but gets lonely since most of his friends are either in other states or have passes. The ideal caretaker would be patient and not take offense with unfiltered statements. He likes to tease and tell stories from his past, sometimes multiple times in the same sitting. He is opinionate and will argue his point, often with very little logic, but he is caring of people and animals and has a very tender heart. He is a proud man and does not want his daughter n laws helping in the bathroom or other intimate areas. As he gets weaker he will need help getting into and out of the shower (there is a seat and handles inside) and dressing is getting harder each day. We are looking for someone to built a relationship so that when he need more help with personal care it will not be a stranger. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
