About who needs care: My grandmother is the cheerfullest person I know. She is 98 and enjoys talking and laughing, doing puzzles, coloring, helping fold laundry, and being stimulated and engaged and remembered. She has dementia, but it does not seem to affect her quality of life as a whole. Her days are very structured, and the structure is part of what keeps everything afloat so nicely. About the care needs: Someone who is very engaging, and perhaps has experience with loving someone with dementia and honors that they are not dumb, or unintelligent their mind just works in a different way. Someone who is willing to talk with her and make her feel seen and heard and cares about her wellbeing. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
