My grandmother is on hospice. She lives alone and doesn't want to go to a nursing home. She is bedridden and has a catheter. I check in on her 1-2x a day to make sure she has water and whatever medication she needs, and a snack if she's hungry. Sometimes I wash her sheets and change her pajamas. I need someone to come do the same on Monday and Friday. I work 10 hour shifts those days, and just can't manage her needs too. There are hospice nurses who come weekly to manage her medical stuff, and an aide comes twice a week to bathe her. For urgent medical needs there is a hospice nurse available 24/7 if you call them. She and I just need a little help keeping her safe and comfortable.
