About who needs care: His underlying issues are heart issues, help him transition from bed to wheelchair, to stair lift, to motorized scooter. A doctor appointment day begins around 5 a.m. for an appointment around 11:30, noon or 12:45 pm, he eventually makes his way off the bed into the wheelchair and into the bathroom, about an 1. 5, he makes his way out back into the bedroom to rest before getting dressed. My Mom assist as needed but struggles to move him and has to rely on the neighbors if he happens to fall onto the floor. He struggles to transition from the wheelchair to the chair lift, once he makes it downstairs he has my Mother to move the scooter close enough so he can lift himself over to the seat. He rides outside and down the ramp and into the street (a cul de sac) and over to front seat where he struggles to get safely into the car - sometimes my Mother struggles to help him into the car. She then puts the scooter onto the ramp attached to the back of the vehicle. Once at the doctor's, she helps him out the car and he wheels into the building. And afterwards, it's a repeat of how he came out the house. About the care needs: He definitely needs a gentleman to assist with getting downstairs, in and out of vehicle and back into house and bup the stairs (transition from Scooter to chair lift, into wheelchair and then up onto bed. Services needed include: transportation, and mobility assistance.
