About the care needs: Hello, we are interested in services to help care for my mother. She's 82, and is showing signs of memory loss and impairment with daily activities like cooking, laundry, cleaning, etc. She no longer drives. She does suffer from high levels of fear/paranoia around strangers, home theft etc. so getting her on board with a non family caregiver will be a gradual process. Her primary residency is in CT but because we feel she cannot live alone she is with my sister in NC. My sister has been the primary caregiver but works 4 days per week in the office for essentially the whole day. These are some of the most challenging times, her being alone for that period usually results in stress/panic outbursts. We are looking for someone to build a relationship with, who can eventually provide trusted companionship for a couple hours per day on those days when my sister isn't available. Companionship could range from sitting on the front porch and talking, gardening/plant care, games - to walks on the beach or shopping trips. Though we expect will definitely have to start with the basics and work up to things that require more trust and comfort. Services needed include: companionship.
