About who needs care: He has Dementia and has good and bad days. He can bath and feed himself and walks without assistance. He has trouble knowing morning from night and remembering to take his medicine on time. He also eats irregularly because he does not know if its breakfast time, dinner time, etc. His groceries are delivered to the house and he has someone to drive him to doctors appointments. We are looking for someone that will stop by the house twice daily in the AM & PM and ensure he takes his medicine and has ate. Also, some housekeeping occasionally to clean up the kitchen, wash dishes, take out the trash, etc. but there would not be much of that needed because he usually remembers to do those things.
About the care needs: Ideally a male would probably be a better fit. He has kind of a crude sense of humor sometimes and may come across as flirting or being vulgar with females, when he is really just trying to be funny and make them laugh. He does not realize his sense of humor comes off as inappropriate at times. A female would be fine if they understand he is not being intentionally forward with them and to not take offense. He is big on trying to make people laugh. He also has a slight speech impediment that can make it a little difficult to understand him sometimes. He no longer drives, so he mostly sits at home and watches movies and plays games on his phone.
Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
