About who needs care: Mom lives in Assisted Living. We are not happy with the home caregivers they are providing. They are too random. She needs more consistency, especially for the afternoon shift from 3-7 p.m. She is in a wheelchair due to a hip surgery and fall risk. Needs companionship, help getting to and from meals, dressing bathing, getting in and out of lounge chair/bed. About the care needs: Patient, cheerful, kind. Must speak English well and clearly without a heavy accent. She has severe hearing issues (even with hearing aids) and does not understand accents. Mom can be difficult due to mental illness/anxiety. She loves to talk, play scrabble, bingo and rummikub. She participates in some/most of the activities they provide. The day is fairly structured with meal times, medication administration, etc. She was an actress, poet, great cook. She mainly needs consistency with the same person every day or 2-3 people whom she can get to know well and feel safe and comfortable with. There are too many random people being sent to her, especially in the afternoon. There is one fairly regular person from facility, whom she likes from 7am-3pm, but after that from 3-7 it is hit or miss, with many misses. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
