About who needs care: Schedule: 3 Weekday Night Shifts (5-6 hours each session) 1 Weekend Day Shift (8 hours) Employment Type: Part-Time Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Night Caregiver to support a level 3 cerebral palsy individual. The ideal candidate will provide essential care, companionship, and assistance in a nurturing environment to enhance the client's quality of life. Key Responsibilities: Physical and Personal Assistance: Assist with eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and activities of daily living. Implement a bedtime routine, including brushing teeth and transferring from wheelchair to bed or toilet, utilizing a Hoya Lift (training provided). Activity Engagement: Support and participate in activities designed to enhance the client's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development. Facilitate leisure and recreational activities as appropriate. Meal Preparation: Prepare meals as needed and assist with clean-up and proper kitchen hygiene. Housekeeping Tasks: Perform essential housekeeping tasks that contribute to the health and welfare of the client. Monitoring and Documentation: Monitor and report on health and safety status. Complete documentation of activities and any significant events during shifts. Submit required documentation and payroll data according to scheduled deadlines. Companionship: Provide supportive companionship to offer relief to family or primary caregivers as needed. Transport Assistance: Assist with community outings and transportation of the individual (transportation may be required). Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. High school graduate or equivalent. Clean criminal record, healthcare registry, and Office of Inspector General checks. Satisfactory driving record, and valid auto insurance if providing transportation. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. CPR/ First Aid certification training will be provided if needed. About the care needs: Skills And Physical Requirements Ability to perform moderately heavy physical exertion regularly. Skills in assisting transfers (wheelchair to chair, bed, tub) and providing significant physical support for daily activities. Ability to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 150 pounds or more, depending on individual needs. Additional Information: This role requires availability during night hours and flexibility on weekends. The caregiver will work collaboratively with the client and family to provide a supportive and engaging environment.
