About who needs care: My mother is completely mobile without assistance. Since suffering, a stroke last year, she has declining memory and reasoning though. She is no longer able to prepare meals, clean her house or remember to bathe consistently. She turns off heaters in the house (when it is cold outside). Needs supervision, meals prepared and to be prompted to eat and stay hydrated. She has intermittent urinary incontinence and must be reminded to wear Depends. She enjoys helping with tasks such as folding clothes and changing the linens on the bed. (But can no longer operate the washer dryer appropriately.) About the care needs: Mom has always been very independent. She is friendly but can be stubborn because she believes she can and do housekeeping and cooking on her own but she cannot. Caregiver must be calm, quite honest and dependable. Especially desired is someone with elder care and memory care experience. She likes a quiet and peaceful setting. She enjoys being outside during good weather and also being taken for brief outings a couple days a week. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
