About who needs care: Grandmother currently on hospice though doing very VERY well. She has CHF resulting in shortness of breath and weakness fluctuating throughout the day. She has a hospice nurse who is in charge of medical care and a CNA x2/week who can assist with ADLs but we would like someone to sit with her as she also has dementia. She is pleasant enough, can carry a conversation, but gets confused with dates/names. She is aware that she has dementia and does get frustrated with herself when she cannot remember. She has a beautiful garden that she still enjoys spending time in. She is dressing self in AM, has her coffee+news, then spends the rest of the day doing whatever around the house she pleases. We want her to remain as IND as possible, meaning we want someone to involve her with meal prep/cleaning the house but also is okay with picking up where she is unable. About the care needs: The ideal caregiver is a female with a bit of sass that can sass back. She is fiercely independent and hates admitting she needs help. She likes to joke and have a good time so someone who can meet her where she is. If you can talk gardening/flowers she will be a happy camper! Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
