About who needs care: Back pain, mobile but walker does help give more stability. He is currently getting PT twice a week and we hope will be having back surgery soon. I have to be out of town to go take care of my daughter in law and help with my new grandson while she has a minor surgery. He is in average health for a 77-year-old. With the back the way it is he is pretty much couch ridden unless has a PT appt. He might sit at the island and work on his computer or something like that. His ideal day is sleep til about 8:00 then coffee and sit and watch the news take naps etc. He just cant do much til we get his back fixed. He likes to watch movies. About the care needs: Someone who is pleasant, kind and self motivated because he may nap a lot. Someone who sees a need and meets it. If you like to cook thats a plus so that every other day you could cook a fresh meal and he would welcome you eating with him. He will eat anything. Hes from New Orleans. Haha! Basic laundry or picking up as needed. He will need help getting in the shower because his back makes it very difficult but we only bathe him every other day. Someone just to remain close by to monitor. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
