About who needs care: My mother has had 2 strokes and it has affected her right arm and right leg. Her right arm is kept in an arm sling and she uses a three prone cane to move around. She likes for you to walk with her when she goes to the bathroom which I feel this just makes her feel more secure. She does not need help using the bathroom. She has some macular degeneration. She can talk and is very coherent. She has several different medications that she takes throughout the day such as for blood pressure, cholesterol, warfarin, and waterpills. She knows which medication she has to take but it is still good for someone to oversee this process. She just watches television but falls asleep a lot of times when she is watching television. At the end of the night she needs some help to get in the bed. I forgot to mention that on Monday evenings she has Bible study over the phone with her sisters and on certain Sundays her pastor will come to visit.
About the care needs: Someone who is very trustworthy, kind, and patient. Enjoys taking care of the elderly. Has the ability to lift if needed. Likes to laugh. Has the skillset of giving CPR if needed and does not panic in an emergency.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
