Developing Potential, Inc. is currently hiring full time Direct Support Professionals in Lee's Summit and Independence.
We offer a sign-on bonus, paid training, a comprehensive benefit plan, and a Monday - Friday 8am-4pm schedule working on the day shift. Pay-$17/HR.
Must have valid state driver's license, and current vehicle insurance indicating safe driving record. Must reliable, working vehicle and maintain sufficient fuel to meet clients' transportation needs (company reimburses for personal vehicle use) should use of personal vehicle for client transportation be requested. Must have the ability to do basic math, legible handwriting and professional grammar skills.
Must be available to work weekdays. Must be able to attend staff meetings that may be conducted after program hours and complete required DMH training including new hire and annual online assigned training. Ability to maintain current certifications on Annual Recertification, I/DD specific training, and other training as needed.

As a Direct Support Professional you will:
Work Monday - Friday in a day shift position. No weekends, or holidays.
Teach individualized socialization and living skills to individuals having developmental disabilities through a culture of gentleness and respect.
Develop and implement daily programs for each individual assigned in a team or 1:1 setting in regards to program goals, independent living skills, self-help skills, life skills, self-advocacy in learning preferences/choices/communication skills, and community integration skills as well as other goals as indicated in the individual's annual plan.
Implement training goals for program participants.
Support program participants with personal care needs such as toileting, assistance with lunch, ROM, sensory needs, using Hoyer lifts, etc.
Complete all documentation/charting by using the computer system. If you have experience with Therap, that's a plus!
Implement community volunteer site activities and on site program/school activities.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
A valid driver's license, current auto insurance and a reliable vehicle.
One year of relatable experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
A stable work history
It is not required, but if you are a CNA, that's a plus!

DPI's program focuses on building strengths, fostering independence, changing lives, and developing potential.
