About who needs care: My dad is getting out of the hospital after a bout of pneumonia and a stomach virus. He lives independently with my mom in a pleasant one level home. They are mobile, alert, and conversational. They are both self care, but my dad is a bit weak after being in the hospital. We need someone there during the day to make some meals, ensure safe transfers, and help with small errands like getting groceries. About the care needs: We would like someone who is kind, cheerful, and relaxed. Our goal is to help our dad transition back to independent living. So we want someone who will encourage him to do PT and provide a steadying hand if needed for transfers. We would like a provider who can help make light meals or pick up take out for them. Our parents love classical music and good food. They enjoy eating out and talking with their friends in the community. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and mobility assistance.
