Who needs care: My mom is a pleasant 94 y. o. with Alzheimer's disease. She is ambulatory; not aggressive. She likes music and movement-related activities more than craft activities, although she may do coloring and simple puzzles. She likes to be in the kitchen, but is not safe to be there unsupervised. She likes to read, and is NOT one to sit in front of the TV all day. If not occupied, she'll sleep a lot of the day. She's often up at night. She's resistant to showering, and even sponge baths. She's moderately HOH. Care needs: Female only. Someone who is pleasant but firm. When my mom talks, it's mostly word salad, so you need a lot of patience. We really need someone who can get my mom to shower or sponge bathe, and take her meds. Services needed include: companionship, light meal prep, bathing/dressing, facilitate her exercises.
