About who needs care: Looking for a curious and kind part time carer for a severely chronically ill young adult. Responsibilities will mainly be batch cooking and freezing meals for a specialized diet, refilling snack stashes and water bottles, light laundry, running the dishwasher, medication sorting, organization, etc. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient once trained and Be able to follow written instructions without guidance (language translatable) Be able to solve problems independently and adapt to feedback Be quiet and calm Follow viral prevention practices (home includes multiple immunocompromised people) Laura is quiet, introverted, and currently mostly bed-bound. Most of the duties will be behind the scenes while Laura is resting or sleeping with very limited direct interaction with them. Their Mom is the main carer, and having a secondary carer come 2x/week and then increase during Mom's vacations would be ideal (typically 1 to 2 per year). Hours are flexible and negotiable (including nighttime hours). Looking for approximately 4 hour shifts, 2x per week. Pay is $15/hr and is managed through social services, so a background check is necessary. No special experience needed.
