My 97-year-old Mother has lived alone in a one-bedroom apt in assisted living for about 2 years. She adapted well to the environment, independently using a walker to go to the community dining room and attend other activities. However, over the last 3-6 months, she has developed significant weakness and confusion/anxiety and needs additional supervision at this time. We're looking for someone experienced with dementia (memory problems and anxiety). We want a companion to offer her appropriate activity to engage mentally, and perhaps maintain what physical strength she still has (she's no longer independent going to meals in the dining room, escort her to lunch and dinner).
