Looking for care to start as soon as Mon. Jan 27 in our pet-free Maple Grove home. My 63 yo husband had a total laryngectomy on Jan 20 and we are expecting a discharge on Monday Jan 27. The most critical immediate need for care is to manage one JP surgical drain in his thigh. Three times a day the tube needs to be stripped, emptied, and log quantity and color. If that's all you want to or can do - 3 visits a day - we're fine with that. If you'd like full days of work, there's plenty to do which may include: Prompting/guiding him in stoma care: saline lavage, cough, suction, apply Aquaphor to his incisions; check vitals; admin meds; prep feeding and pump for overnight cycle, Assist with ADL - dressing, brush teeth, bathe; light housekeeping Preferred caregiver is a non-smoker and vaccinated.
